Description MDPS (Motor Dirven Power Steering) system uses an electric motor to assist the steering force and it is an engine operation independent steering system.

Inspection1.Turn the ignition switch OFF.2.Disconnect the mode control actuator connector.3.Verify that the mode control actuator operates to the defrost mode when connecting 12V to terminal 3 and grounding terminal 4.Verify that the mode control actuator operates to the vent mode when connected in reverse.
Removal1.Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.2.Remove the steering wheel assembly.(Refer to Steering System - "Steering Wheel")3.Remove the steering back cover (A).4.Remove the steering remote control connector (A).5.Remove the steering remote control after loosening the screws.
