InspectionThrottle Position Sensor (TPS)1.Connect the GDS on the Data Link Connector (DLC).2.Start the engine and measure the output voltage of TPS 1 and 2 at C.
DescriptionManifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAPS) is a speed-density type sensor and is installed on the surge tank. It senses absolute pressure of the surge tank and transfers the analog signal proportional to the pressure to the ECM.

Replacement1.Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2.Remove the heater and blower assembly.(Refer to Heater - "Heater Unit") 3.Remove the evaporator core cover (A) after loosening the mounting screws.4.Pull out the evaporator temperature sensor (A) from the evaporator core.

Inspection1.Turn the ignition switch OFF.2.Disconnect the mode control actuator connector.3.Verify that the mode control actuator operates to the defrost mode when connecting 12V to terminal 3 and grounding terminal 4.Verify that the mode control actuator operates to the vent mode when connected in reverse.
