Hyundai Ioniq: Rear Glass Defogger / Rear Glass Defogger Switch. Repair procedures
1. | The body electrocal system can be quickly diagnosed failed parts with vehicle diagnostic system(GDS). The diagnostic system (GDS) provides the following information. (1) | Self diagnosis : Checking the failure code (DTC) and display |
(2) | Current data : Checking the system input/output data state |
(3) | Actuation test : Checking the system operation condition |
(4) | Additional function : Other controlling such as he system option and zero point |

2. | Select the "Car Model" and the system to be checked in order to check the vehicle with the tester. |
3. | Select the "Smart Junction Box (SJB)" to check the windshield deicer. |
4. | Select the "Current Date" menu to search the current state of the input/output data. The input/output data for the sensors corresponding to the "Smart Junction Box(SJB)" can be checked.

5. | Select "Actuation Test", if you want to check the Smart Junction Box (SJB) data operation forcefully.

1. | Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. |
2. | Remove the heater and A/C controll unit. (Refer to Heating, Ventilation, Air conditioning - "Heater & A/C Control Unit (Dual)") |
1. | Install the heater and A/C control unit. |
2. | Connect the negative (-) battery terminal. |
Inspection
•
Wrap tin foil around the end of the voltmeter test lead to prevent damaging the heater line. Apply finger pressure on the tin foil, moving the tin foil along the grid line to check for open circuits...
Other information:
To see the LKA system screen on the LCD display in the cluster, select SCC/LKA
mode () for cluster type A or ASSIST
mode () for cluster type B. For
more information, refer to "LCD Display Modes" in chapter 3.
When both lane markers are detected and all the conditions to activate the
LKA system are satisfied, a green steering wheel indicator will illuminate and
the LKA system indicator light will change from white to green...
Never move the shift lever from P (Park) or N (Neutral) to any other position
with the accelerator pedal depressed.
Never move the shift lever into P (Park) when the vehicle is in motion.
Be sure the vehicle is completely stopped before you attempt to shift into R
(Reverse) or D (Drive)...
