DescriptionKnocking is a phenomenon characterized by undesirable vibration and noise and can cause engine damage. Knock Sensor (KS) is installed on the cylinder block and senses engine knocking.

Inspection1.Turn the ignition switch OFF.2.Disconnect the evaporator temperature sensor connector.3.Measure the resistance between terminal "+" and "-" of the evaporator temperature sensor.Specification Evaporator core temperature [°C (°F)] Resistance [KΩ]
Replacement1.Remove the battery (-) terminal.2.Remove the engine room under cover.(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")3.Remove the heater hose (A) and AEWP hose (B).4.Disconnect the lock pin to remove the heater hose pump connector (A).
